PROCEDURES ENDOSCOPIC CARE AND FOLLOW-UP

Intragastric Balloon

A temporary device placed endoscopically and removed after a set period. It is not surgery and is carried out alongside a nutrition and activity programme.

How we proceed

  1. 1

Assessing the current picture through a detailed history, physical examination and laboratory tests.

  2. 2

Reviewing the eligibility criteria for an intragastric balloon together with the surgeon, endocrinologist, dietitian and psychologist.

  3. 3

If a decision is reached, setting out the preparation period, the procedure and the expected hospital stay in advance.

  4. 4

Follow-up after discharge with a nutrition plan and a defined schedule of review appointments across the first year.
